Class 2 Information
A warm welcome to all of our parents and families for the 2024 – 2025 year!
In Class 2, we want all of our children to be independent and to flourish as unique individuals. We aim to accomplish this through our school vision “Let all that you do be done in Love.”
Below you will find our Long Term Plan for the year, as well as our more detailed Autumn Curriculum Map.
Reading and Phonics
In Class 2, we want to instil a love of reading and we will be reading lots of high quality texts each and everyday. Spoken language is an important element of reading and writing, which we encourage through lots of discussion, shared and guided work!
In terms of phonics, we follow Red Rose Phonics which is aligned to Letters and Sounds. Years 1 and 2 are taught separately for phonics, and are placed into Guided Reading groups to further develop their reading skills!
